Saturday afternoon was a perfect day to hit the local pool. It was warm out (finally) and we had a few hours to hang out with the kids.
Our local community center has a fabulous pool set up. Its more like a mini indoor water park.
They have a slide. Not just any little dinky slide. A full on day at the water park slide. It was awesome.
Only Russell was a smidgen to short to go on. Boo.
So he got to go on this one.
“I’m alright mom! It was fun!”
(at this point he had flipped over three times coming down, laughing the whole time. I, on the other-hand was biting off my fingernails…all while snapping this shot. Pretty talented, I say so my self)
There were lots of things to keep you busy in the pool. It was more like a splash-a thon. Things to get you drenched…
It even had a lazy daisy river to float around along the outer edge of the pool.
Jacqui too, was having so much fun she couldn’t contain her excitement…
Once the kids splashed and screamed and flailed around like the wild beasts that they were, Brad took a minute to help Russell get his sea legs and swim like “the Seals swim”.
“Wax on. Wax off.”
“Tread in. Tread out.” Or something like that.
Hey. I wasn’t in the water.
Jacqui was showing him how to swim like a rock star. Russell was struggling to not sink like a rock. period.
Daddy helping him back. Good Daddy. Mean Sister.
It was a fun-filled day of playing and learning. Lots of fun things to do.
Even though I didn’t get in, I really, really, REALLY wanted to play on the hippo…
But I may have been frowned upon.
All of this for a whopping 10$ for the entire family for the day.
You all need to go find your local community pools and centers and use them. Ours has this cool pool, a full gym/workout center, basketball court(s), racquetball, soccer and baseball fields, a full park and BBQ areas. Its great.
And its only 1/4 of a mile from our house.
It was a great day on Saturday.
